3-Day Desert Adventure

Trip from Marrakech to Merzouga Desert

Discover the most iconic landscapes of southern Morocco on this 3-day desert adventure departing from Marrakech. This carefully crafted itinerary takes you from the imperial city to the heart of the Sahara, crossing ancient mountain passes, traditional Berber villages, and dramatic gorges along the way.

On the first day, you'll cross the High Atlas via the famous Tizi n'Tichka pass before visiting the legendary Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou — a UNESCO World Heritage Site that has served as a backdrop for dozens of major films. The afternoon brings you to the Valley of Roses and the breathtaking Dades Gorges, where you'll spend the night in a local kasbah.

Day two begins with a walk through the Dades Gorges before heading to the towering Todra Gorges, where 300-metre cliffs create one of Morocco's most dramatic landscapes. The landscape then opens up into the pre-Saharan plains as you approach the village of Merzouga at the edge of the Erg Chebbi dunes.

Your desert arrival is made even more special by a private 4x4 or quad transfer directly to your nomadic camp, nestled among the dunes. Enjoy a traditional Berber dinner, live Gnawa music around a campfire, and fall asleep under a sky full of stars with no light pollution.

On the final morning, wake up before sunrise to watch the dunes glow golden in the first light of day, before beginning the scenic return journey through the magnificent Draa Valley — Morocco's longest river valley, lined with thousands of date palms — and back across the Anti-Atlas to Marrakech.
